Phuket Thailand

'Pong Pong show, Tiger show, A-Go-Go show' touts will say n show pic to all adults at d nite mkt opp patong beach. fake branded goods, f & b outlets, massage salons n ah gua were all over d pl. temple unseen.

world cup soccer matches were shown freely. fireworks were displayed nightly. air was fresh. noisy but u will only mind fm ur spouse. 

1st nite special treat to my family with fresh lobster, 600g for S$54, at patong seafood rest. stayed at d 4-star  patong beach hotel. friendly staff, nice rooms n environment. 1/2 day city tour to other beaches, tourist shops n d largest  temple. 

oso went to nearby hi end shopping ctr. carrefor, robinson, starbucks, kfc, mac... had my hair cut n wash, promotion pr S$17. day shop! nite shop! would hv dropped if no 2x massage, d usual thai style tat twist, turn n bend U, n d pamper oil massage. S$13 an hr. 2 types of massage salons, decent n extra svc type.  tried most type of thai food but whr got roadside thai sharkfin! no c snake gall bladder. mayb in bangkok.

so many souvenirs 2 buy. popular ones r wood type, teak wood dear. Elephant is a good collection whether as thai icon or feng shui. tourist shops no bargain but some gifts r cheaper den stalls.  

Beaches surround phuket. hot summer but waves were strong. perhaps tats attract world tourists. caucasians esp europeans r their big mkt. asian is 2nd. oso haven 4 honeymoon couples n families. if 1 visit 1 beach, tink u need more den a dozen visits! tragedy of boxing day alrdy history.


Land of Smile oso applies 2 phuket. only a few shopkeepers blackface u coz u offered beggar price. thai girls even d decent class or non-svc type always keep a smiling face. no  courtesy campaign rqd.

Ah Gua in thailand is a race or class by itself. those in tourism or nitelife trade r v pretty or sexy. many of them oso in other jobs. hmmm so interesting. together w Massage n Temple they r Thailand's Pride.

luv d game since old days. played oso. if now hv chance still wish 2 play. can play all positions incl reserve. coach oso can. any lobang pse call me. fav players gordon banks, pat jennings, george best, bobby charlton, johan cruff, gerd muller, berti vortz, frank b. mus respect king pele. fav countries england, west germany. quite like holland, brazil.
Unpredictable 2010 World Cup!!! since the 70s germany is always a very tactical team. Will it be a Replay of 1974 Final between Germany & Holland?
a few hrs to go will know the octopus or parrot i'll like. anyway my predictn since jan abt an European country to win hv cum true.  
Spain won. i predicated right but didnt get $ coz Draw at full time!! mayb i didnt quite like spain. anyway still get $7.50, championship winner. like Germany, they gave me $15.50, although 3rd. nvr like Maradona fm d day he's a player. he n south american costed me $15!

Farewell Great Artist

Ch Press today reports the departure of pioneer artist Prof Sun Yee, age 91. got to know her in the early 80s when she taught chinese painting at ymca orchard. then she owned gallery on mt faber top. very impressed by her bold & modern way of painting. visited her last art expo in 1997 at orchard pt. had the privilege to photo with her. had the privilege to have her painting in the early 2000s. Farewell.

tis isnt d 1st time tat Bee cum 2 my pl 2 build Hive but tis time a giant tiger bee came to build on a pickle n rail lamp shade! they did it on my pines, & on some paintings of flowers n calligraphy. very real works by great artists. well, those who know me well, will know that i'm very Sweet. GREEN FORTUNE - GREAT NUN

Rev Fa Quan founder of Man Fatt Lam Temple, 211 Old Bedok Road passed away on Qing Ming day, 5/4/10, 96 yrs old. If Bonsai were created by Monks, Rev Fa Quan really lived to that. In my 20+ years of buddhismship with the Rev, have seen her many Landscape & Bonsai creation. Pictures here some of her great effort.

She intro me to Rev Dhammajoti, a Malaysian Chinese High Monk, now stationed in Sri Lanka, to take Refuge from, when i was ready to become a Buddhist. To thank me for bringing out many Sutras from the library to the open for sunlight, & guiding them for a few days, she presented me a large piece of Buddhism Art. Now hang at my place.

Rev Fa Quan was also active in Charity. She even built Temple in China. In the younger years, Man Fatt Lam took in many old folks & orphans. Her disciple, Rev Yan Ming, is my 2nd child, Sophia's godmother. Both Sifu & student intro many clients to me.

This pioneer Nun will leave for Bright Hill Temple this Sun. Rev Fa Quan will be missed by many. Happy Nirvana!

my parents r green lovers too. they planted v nice orchids. some exotic ones were stolen. my mum foto w a pot of rare orchid by prof fotographer. in later yrs they'd bonsai too, hokien tea n shui mei. my dad even created racks at d corridor garden jus to get more sunlight. interesting to hv common hobby by couple.

another auspicious day for another fortune attempt. tis d other 20 over yrs old plant. shorter time used due 2 better xperience. shuang lim buddhist temple has fantastic bonsai garden. many varities esp d exotic ones. happy fortune folks.

i've a pair of 20+ yrs old Desert Rose. now mature n live in large pot of height 38cm x diameter 41cm. recently the roots of 1 plant surfaced n it coincides w d craze of bonsai DR. it prompted me to do crazy thing! 

yesterday was an auspicious day to do planting. spent 2 hrs to slowly remove d wet soil. found some unusual clay-rocks! its base was large like giant white carrot with thick roots tat looked like ginseng!

as an amateur or beginner, i daren't transform it to be bonsai outright by putting in shallow pot. merely lifted it up, exposed the trunk n roots (jus like low-cut, mini-shorts). spent an hr putting it to the desirable look.

3 hrs of hard work. good exercise, n direct contact w nature equal Satisfaction. tis kind of man n flower affair is certainly better den tat type of men n flowers affairs!

very popular in the 80s as a Good Luck symbol. when flowers bloom, lottery luck seems better!

in recent yrs, bonsai experts made this shrub unique by exposing its trunk & roots! they create bonsai style. beautiful! it attracted me so much that i'm now learning, exploring & experimentaling to bonsai this beauty.

i must thank Andrew for bringing me to a big florist in the west. there i saw young desert rose bonsai at $10. also thank Stanley who brought me to a big bonsai store at turf city. there we're shocked at the sight of huge bonsai (not desert rose) at near $100k!

other traditional Good Luck Plants include Bamboo, Iron Tree, Mandarin, Money Plant, Pine, Pomegranate, & Thai Get-Rich Tree. never keep cactus, it'll disturb your thinking power (not what movie/tv shows dramatised that will keep off evil); & chilli plant that will cause asthma.
