Erawan Shrine Bangkok
1. about 1 year + ago during lock down, 4-Faced Buddha of golden mile complex told me in dream to go pray there. before lock down i used to visit Bangkok annually to pray to her Erawan Shrine 4-Faced Buddha. during lock down, there wasn't urge to visit any 4-Faced Buddha Temple or Shrine in Singapore.
of course i heeled the dream. chose Thu to visit golden mile complex for the late strong follower of 4-Faced Buddha, Mr Victor Khoo ever said that Thu, i.e. 4th day of the week, was the best day to pray to 4-Faced Buddha. better still if it could be 4pm.
every Thu if no rain will go around lunch time. picked up some flowers at the shop there & offered to the 4-Faced Buddha. then had Thai food for lunch in the mall. also bought Lottery at a shop there. quite lucky. better to go on a fine day for if rained, it'll wet the Shrine area including the joss-sticks shelves.
before this new event, my last visit to Golden Mile was more than 30 years ago.
2. when Channel News Asia contacted me for an interview about the 4-Faced Buddha of golden mile, we're keen to know, when the Shrine was there?
13 July 1972 or 1973. 4-Face Buddha told me in dream. later it's confirmed to be 1973 by the caretaker of the Shrine at golden mile complex.
although my interview with CNA was omitted, some shots of me praying to the 4-Face Buddha were shown. have to thank CNA for having me to be part of her documentary, On-The-Red Dot Losing Landmarks. available in Mewatch On-The-Red Dot.
Golden Mile Complex, affectionately known as Little Thailand, was sold. all must move out by Apr 2023.
there's a relative who's quite seriously ill. during my visit, asked for his recovery to the 4-Face Buddha. the wish came true. he recovered without operation.
my fate with 4-Faced Buddha went back a few decades ago. during that era, it's popular in most homes to have a small statue of 4-Faced Buddha. dreamed my home should have one. told my mum. she brought it in later.
in the 90s, a client invited me to Bangkok. told me that when he first joined the stock broking firm business was quite bad. his boss then told him to go pray to 4-Faced Buddha Erawan Shrine in Bangkok. he went & made a wish that he be successful. if so, every year he'll return. before his retirement a few years ago, he still go Bangkok yearly.
trust that the Front of Phra Phrom is for All Round Luck including Business, Career, Family etc. clockwise, the 2nd side is for Relationship. 3rd is for Wealth. 4th is for Health.
9 Nov is 4-Faced Buddha's Birthday.
i'm from Mahayana Buddhism so didn't pay much attention to 4-Faced Buddha or Phra Phrom in Thai language. only about a decade ago, when my family & i started to frequent Bangkok for Thai food & Shopping. it became an usual routine, first to 4-Faced Buddha Erawan Shrine then to food & shopping.
when my son was in sec 2, his marks were borderline especially English. i went to Erawan Shrine. the only wish was his marks to be better. in that final year exam, he came in 3rd in class!. his usual position was 11 to 20.
in these few years, came to know more about Thai Buddhism. quite often use its Amulets to be auspicious items in my Feng Shui.
in a dream, my present 2 pieces of 4-Faced Buddha amulets, told me to get a 3rd pieces. to wear 3 in 1. my Thai amulet dealer helped out.
well, i was late for the moving out ceremony of 4-Faced Buddha golden mile in Apr. it's moved to a Thai Temple for restoration. on May 11, it's placed at the century old Long San Buddhist Temple, Race Course Road. will try to visit it one day.
