Qing Ming 2023

22/3 to 19/4. actual day 5/4, twin lunar 2nd month 15th day. any day within this period, one can visit where the ancestor is placed. if one has ancestor tablet at home, a proper praying & offering should be done on the actual day.

Don't Mix Up Qing Ming & Ghost Fest. the earlier is a festival to remember our Ancestors whereas the latter is for Unwanted or Hungry Ghosts which's lunar 7th mth.

if it's buried, one has to ensure the grave & its surrounding are neat including words on the tomb is clear & still readable. if it's in temple, Pray to the Gods first then your Ancestors, cannot be reverse.

at any site, please observe Dress Code. even if it's not mentioned, proper attire is expected. what you wear is a Respect not only to the Gods, Ancestors but Yourself.

at the site, mind your words! a groom-to-be went with his bride to visit her granny's grave. casually he promised that he were sweep her tomb regularly if he were to strike 4D after that Qing Ming session. he won but forgotten the wish. for a few nights he dreamt of her granny asking him When'll You Come to Sweep My Grave? eventually he fulfilled his promise.

as reported in the straits times, some years ago, a family of 7 drowned in a river in guangdong after tomb visit on qing ming day, they might have offended the spirits of the estate by sitting on other people's tombs, spit, urine or pray unwillingly to the ancestors.

due to sentimental reason, other than the Actual Day, any activities eg Renovation, Shifting, Wedding can be done in Qing Ming. your Ancestors is glad you got married, isn't it?

if it's the first Qing Ming for the deceased, the visit has to be done before the actual day.

in english it's known as All Souls Day.

Lee Hsien Loong, The Iron Man

Now you captain your team for the all seats contested General Election. Very hardwork especially without your well respected & beloved Papa. No worry, Sir. God is Fair. My vote including 5 more votes from my family will be for your Proven A Party. Due to health reason, my soon 90 years old mother can't vote but she keeps reminding us to vote for PAP.

8/9/15, 2.33pm.

Prime Minister Sir, firstly let me this ordinary citizen urges you to take good care of your health. The recent demise of your papa Sir Lee Kuan Yew meant alot to you & the nation too.

23/3/15, you read the news live on tv to millions announcing His departure. From your look above, one knows that kind of feeling in your heart. Surely it broke many hearts too.

As the eldest son of a family, the burden is heavy, especially of the reputable Lee family. You're very filial to follow your dad's footstep. Truly, in early years, many local & oversea people don't feel your capability as a politician. Well over the years you've worked very hard to prove them wrong. Your papa certainly felt pleased.

Pardon me to say, the departure of your first wife was a big blow to you. the kids too. Illness as well. But you managed through. I know you still loved her alot.

Next week will be a new chapter for the nation especially for you. I urge you to be strong, keep fit, and move on. Carry on your father's good work & name. We need you. Not coz you're His son. You've proven to be a capable Prime Minister & Leader.

May Buddha Bless You & Singapore.

24/3/15,   8.45pm

Hope you're well, Sir. Buddha will Bless you.

23/8/16, 7.45pm.

DREAM OF LEE KUAN YEW

It's great honour that Sir Lee Kuan Yew came into my dream last night. Sir, feel free to drop by anytime.

i'm an unofficial dream psychic meaning i don't intentionally go to sleep & purposely dream of a subject. it comes naturally. this gift came almost 30 years ago when i learned Buddhism & Geomancy.

in dream i've been to heaven & hell. also met Buddha, Goddess of Mercy etc. what a gift!

so far my big dreams include: MH 370 (straight after its disappearance & follow up), Bruce Lee, & a Hotel along Scotts Road. smaller dreams include clients, relatives & friends. record can be found in other pages.

In the dream, Sir Lee Kuan Yew with more dark hair, dressed in white shirt & dark colour pants, no neck-tie or jacket. Only He & I were in a kind of classroom. He wrote 2 short sentences on the white board. Unfortunately, I can't recall that 2 sentences in its proper order. Could only recall not in any order 3 key words: Wrong, Nothing, Satisfying or Satisfactory. He stood, kept pointing to that sentences & said quite softly while I sat on a chair with table listened. The dream lasted for a short moment before He varnished.

Till now still can't figure out what He tried to share. Closest guess are Nothing Wrong to be Satisfying, Do Wrong Nothing for Satisfactory.......

If anyone has insights or explanation, please drop me a note.

24/3/15,   2.03pm

26/3, 1.55am:   Sir in the above look sat opp me & a lady fb friend. we're having mixed vegetable rice outside a modern coffee shop. He stood up & spoke or rather expressed in his usual style: What can I do now? What do you want me to do now?

2/4, around 3+ am:   To show more photos of people's feelings towards Sir on facebook.

11/4, eve of Sir's 三七, 4+ am:   The same fb lady friend Ms A brought Sir out of danger in WWII. (could she be someone impt in Sir's earlier years & now reborn as Ms A?). Sir used to remit $ to his mum or vice versa when He's studying in UK. He, His mum or aunt & Ms A had a laundry shop that was actually used as Information centre during WWII.

5/5, 5th dream: Sir old, dressed in the old time white shirt & black pants, walked around my room for a few mins, (Sun, May 10, Sir's 7 7th 49th, Journey Complete).

2/10, 6th  dream: In 2016, evening,  Sir wore a sky blue shirt (cant recall short or long sleeves), a rattan hat & beige long pants walked steadily with a few stout men (probably body guards) by the side of a nature reserve area, next to it was the main road. Someone on the road asked, & He remarked that He missed the SG 50 Celebration!

LEE KUAN YEW THE GOD

You're sent by Heaven to make this little island called Singapore to grow & be successful. Your 50 years of hardwork admired by many. You called yourself the Salesman of S'pore. You're the Best. No You, No Country, No Home!

You not only built a nation, You also built a family. Your children are all very capable. Your love with Mrs Lee showed what's love. You & Mrs Lee were made in heaven.

You're the Best Dressed, Best Charisma & Best Looking Singaporean. You're our Superstar, our God.

You left us on 23/3/15. Heaven cried a few days. I urge the Authority to Declare March 23 as LEE KUAN YEW DAY. You made this Goat Year's Qing Ming Unusual.

I booked an oversea trip some months ago. About a month before departure, a Voice in dream told me to cancel it but I ignored it. Returned on 21/3. Watched your whole event.

91 is a ripe old age. It's a happy wake. You'd worked very hard & non-stop for 50 years. Time to Rest. All will remember You. You're the Greatest Singaporean. You're also One of the Few Greatest Humans on Earth.

Till 28/3, the few days of public mourning gathered over 1 million visitors, ranging from age below 1 to over 100! People queued many hours including overnight just to pay respects. All shapes & sizes in any health conditions turned up in very organised manner. Many offered free food, drinks, umbrellas etc. T-shirts, stickers etc with the Ribbon of Your Picture were made.

No rule or fine to compel their attendance. They went with their hearts. No regulation that shops must be closed but many closed just for you.

On the 1st day, super-rich tycoon Mr Li Ka Shing came with his sons from HK. Bill Clinton, Henry K, & many others including King & Queen of Bhutan were here. Famous opposition leader Mr Chiam See Tong, 80s, came too with walking stick & aid.

Although it's a sad event, it's surely National if not International Event of the Year! The whole world acknowledged your contribution.

29/3, sudden heavy rain didn't stop Your Citizens from hiding off The Grand March Pass. As Your Son, the PM said: Heaven Opens Up & Cries For You! Water is Wealth. You gave us Wealth even on Your last day. Rain stopped after UCC function while You proceed to Mandai. Kind of Bright Sky. Some spotted Rainbow.

I envy those who've met You in person before 23/3. Our meetings only in Dreams as I've recorded in another page.

Sir, your family were touched, your party & government were touched. No one expects such Love & Honour. You moved all Singaporean & the World!

7/4, Goddess of Mercy Birthday, in the news an Indian in India named his son Jeyaprakash Lee Kuan Yew! the father claimed that he's born on 23/3, 1pm, the day You left us. he knew nothing about You until he saw his village people bowed to your photo during a march pass. he felt you must be a Grand one so he used your name for auspicious reason!

sad about it. Singaporeans love you but i'm sure as a respect no one will name his kids, grand-children or pet LKY. it's all right to use Kuan Yew. from the Chinese proverb, it means bring fame & glory to the ancestors. even if one has the surname of Lee, unlikely he'll call his son Kuan Yew. if one names his pet LKY, he's naughty.

9/4, realise that You, Rev Hong Choon, & Bruce Lee are the 3 Kings in modern history. Bruce, King of Kungfu, introduced Chinese marital arts to the West, passed off in 1970 at 30s, his sudden death till today is actually still a misery. Rev passed away on xmas day 1990 at 84, other than King of Buddhism, he's also King of Feng Shui. Sir, You're the King of modern politics.

The passing away of the 3 Kings moved the world. Their funerals were well attended by many VVIPs worldwide. Like Bruce & Rev Hong Choon, Sir Your legend will live on & on.

12/4, 10+ pm. Sir today is your 三七. Sad to hear that You put it in the will to demolish Your Oxley Road House! Trust all will respect Your wish. Pity! It should be kept. Well, I suggest to fulfill Your wish to tear it down BUT in future build a LKY Museum there. Sir, I'm not trying to disturb Your peace or Cheat You (who can cheat LKY?), like many others we feel that that's a Full Respect way to Honour & Remember the modern Founding Father! Hope the authority will consider my suggestion.

I'll keep alive your NO NONSENSE Motto. Let me share my small but proud achievement as a Singaporean under Your Leadership. In the early 80s, founded S'pore's 1st registered angling organisation, the pioneer angling club. also wrote the nation's 1st fishing book, the right way to pond fishing. Just hoped to make angling a recognized sport. Was invited by the New Zealand Tourism Board to NZ to speak on feng shui at her 100 Years of NZ Tourism.

Like You changed a little dot to a big one. As a geomancer, I changed some small fish to whale, eg rigel, fargedala, coselec etc, including many hotels too. I spent a year with a NZ student here to help her in her research thesis in feng shui. She graduated with Master degree, and her research was published as Feng Shui in Singapore.

Sir, interestingly your 2 famous subjects of Garden City & Clean River coincides with the importance of Good Energy (Qi) & Water Feature (Wealth) in Geomancy. Paradox that the late famous Feng Shui Monk Rev Hong Choon of Bright Hill Temple was your Advisor. And the Merlion statue & $1 Coin were among his major contribution. Anyway under your leadership Singapore is a Blessed City.

At Your 60th Birthday function at National Theater, major Religious Leaders went on stage to Pray for You. What a Grand Blessing Ceremony.

Sir, You're the True National Treasure, & a Rare World Gem. There should be a Statue of You. (The Confucius statue you've is beautiful). Your Oxley Road House must be kept as Museum. Look forward to a LEE KUAN YEW DAY. Stamp, Currency Note & T-Shirt with your picture. Small Statue one can put in premises. Road, Building & Bridge named after You.

According to Chinese calculation, 29/3, lunar 2nd mth 10th day (Land God Day), isn't a good day for funeral but I believe for Your Great Honour, the God will make it a Blessed Day for All. It happened to be Your 1st 7th day, 头七. Apr 12 is the 3rd 7th day, 三七. I'll chant for You. May 10 is the 7th 7th day, 49 days, Journey Complete. I'll chant for You.

FAREWELL SIR. BUDDHA WILL BLESS YOU & FAMILY

1921 Phuket Patong Beach

sunset is worth the wait

 sky-balloon if you've the guts

sunny & windy

Patong is the most popular & vibrant beach in Phuket. About an hour from the airport. By taxi meter costs noting less than 800 baht! True enough as some commented that the cab driver will drive you to tour shop. Mine went to ask direction of the hotel. The lady there tried to sell me all kind of tours. Regret declining her offer to taxi me from the hotel on return trip! Only 800 baht. I was wrong to think like in Bangkok where proper taxi is everywhere.

OMG! Such Tuk Tuk Taxi is most common, & it can transport you to the airport! Open air up & down the hill over zig-zag bends to the airport! Will cost you around 1000 baht! Common transport mode next to motorcycle. Bus & proper taxi uncommon. Roads are always busy but once you put up your hand, vehicles will slow down or stop for your crossing.

Along the main road of the beach has many shops that offer anything you want. Bargain is a must! Try from half the offer price unless sign says Fixed Price.

Good to explore all side roads day or night.
Lots of Western food available likely coz Westerners are still the island's biggest visitors. Not many street food hawkers. Don't expect very cheap food.1 small european style restaurant serves Singapore Sling cocktail!

Lucky I brought this cookies along
In the middle of the famous Bangla road is a lane that has several local F & B at reasonable rates. End of it is the Toilet.

K & K operated by this couple was where I ate & drank coffee most. Infact met & chat with a young
yunnan couple that honeymoon in Phuket! Can't believe it, honeymoon!

Recommended by the lady boss, Fried Fresh Flower Crab with Yellow Curry. Only S$7.00 for 1 crab.
I didn't ask for the Water with Lemon slice to wash hands or Tool to remove shells but they came. Nice food & good service.
If there's companions, would have ordered the Giant Squid, Big Fish, King Prawns.........

Nescafe Coffee C, 80 sg cts only! Water is free.
Right turn at the end of Bangla rd. Opposite lies the Upmarket district that needs no further introduction. Many international & local brands. Expensive Eats, Massage & Spa too.

No visit to Bangla Road is you've not visited Patong or Phuket! A road of Sin! Not Recommended for Kid especially in the Night.

She stands Tall nightly. Poor thing!

Fri nite. Some pubs have No Luck.

I ran off not wanting the over-exposed samba dressed LadyBoys to grab me for payable photo shoot
Popular Thai Boxing Team patrolled the street

At the corner of Bangla rd, an Italian man owned fine Coffee bar. It sells Liquor & Ice Cream too.
Black Coffee 50 baht. Burmese Staff.

Several new Properties available

Outside Keeta Patong Beach Guesthouse. No interior to show. Just a basic decent hotel with air-con, hot n cold water bath, ctv, fridge, safe, wardrobe, water bottle, bath/shower gel... Nice & comfortable big bed. Compliment must be given to the owner Ms Bo. She rang & booked a proper cab a day before I departed, 800 baht. It came 15 mins earlier. Can't imagine going to airport in Tuk-Tuk Taxi! Ms Bo gave good advice. House-Keeping was fine too. She mentioned that the hotel will go through full renovation in a few month's time.

No issue in S'pore Airport. Only that on return flight, the Seats of the Tigerair plane can't be adjusted! Well, in Phuket Airport, her Terminal 2 is like a small godown at the basement. After checked in luggage, went to level 1Terminal 1 for Passport & check in proper. Only 1 Water Point at Phuket airport & it's out of order!

Phuket Airport Cafe
I stayed from Mar 19 to 21. The transport & costly shopping & dining surprised me! Too dear to travel to other parts of Phuket. Very Hot! Rather disappointed! Quite different from the package tour I went a few years ago. For this trip I felt I've helped many in Phuket, eg bought clothing from a Mute middle age lady who managed a big shop. Maybe I don't know how to enjoy Phuket. During quiet time, it made me think about my family.
