Tortoise or Turtle in Chinese culture symbolizes Longevity. It's also one of the Heavenly animals. And in Geomancy, it rules the North.

Interestingly in Thai Culture or Buddhism, the Temples & Monks create the Auspicious Wealth Turtle. With their Chanting & Blessing, Wealth Fetching is ensured. Also highlight that since Turtle only moves forward, it means your Good Self, Goal, Career etc will only Move Forward. No backward. And in danger, it knows how to protect itself. Fertility & Productivity too as Turtle lays many eggs.

Metal is the most common material used to make such Turtle. Those that are created by Top Monks especially the earlier batch can costs up to thousand of dollars. From a Collector's point of view, older the better & more valuable. Common for one to do casing for it & be worn as Amulet.

Image of Laughing Buddha (All round Happiness), Lord Sivali (No short of anything), Monk etc is usually featured on the Turtle. All these are Power Added. Not unusual for one to have several pieces.

WHATS DRAGON TURTLE?

In Chinese Classic, the maker or creator merged Dragon & Turtle figurine into 1. Usually Dragon on top of the Turtle. 

The main function or symbolism is Authority or Power. Usually put behind your seat to give you that Strength. A must have for Business Owner, Government Official, Management Staff, Supervisor, & those Hopeful.
